The Avocado Adventure – Matchmaking Peruvian avocado @ Fruitlogistica and beyond

Peruvian producers of avocados, mangoes and honey established a new agricultural cooperative in 2015: Campo Verde. Although experienced in production, the cooperative struggled in reaching European and other export markets.

To gain experience and explore new markets the cooperative got support from Globally Cool to explore interest and to match with prominent European buyers.

To help Campo Verde Globally Cool has performed several activities:

  • Exploration of available data and interview experts form a network of contacts.
  • Compiled a long list of potential prospects.
  • Visited potential buyers during Fruit Logistica trade fair in Berlin and interview them to select the most suitable for the Peruvian offer.
  • Compiled a shortlist of interested buyers.
  • Match buyers with Campo Verde.


Starting from almost no contacts, Campo Verde increased their network of potential buyers significantly during one year period. In a very short period, the sales and export manager of Campo Verde was overwhelmed with buyer requests. Through Globally Cool's support, Campo Verde realized quick start access to the international market.

Within 5 years time from the export journey, Campo Verde has even reached further than the European market and also started shipments to Asia, firstly to China and later on to the demanding Japanese market as well. The success of the cooperative was even reported by the famous fresh produce trade magazine FreshPlaza in 2019.
