E-commerce and trade support to women entrepreneurs in Nepal

FWEAN is the apex body for all women entrepreneur associations in Nepal and is a focal point for interaction among its members and government agencies. It has over 3,000 members across 59 of Nepal’s 77 districts.

The project supports the Federation of Women Entrepreneurs Associations of Nepal (FWEAN) by operationalising its e-commerce platform and associated app. Also, it builds the capacity of FWEAN Business Advisors to provide coaching services to the FWEAN network members at large.

Globally Cool was part of a consortium led by Adam Smith International. The latter conducted a market diagnostic report to understand FWEAN’s current digital initiatives (web and app) and opportunities within Nepal’s e-commerce landscape and the development of an e-commerce strategy and business plan for FWEAN and implementation coaching. The Globally Cool trainers came in for the development of a curriculum on e-commerce and digital marketing targeting women entrepreneurs. We also integrated a Training of Trainers programme (ToT) benefiting the FWEAN’s Business Advisers.

As a result, we

  • Training delivered to 50 FWEAN members and Business Advisers in Nepal.
  • 10 master trainers trained.
  • Curriculum handed over to master trainers and ready for further local implementation.
