AI solutions for export promotion in Cambodia

This programme aimed to strengthen the capacity of Cambodian consultants and business support professionals to use AI tools for export promotion and translate this capability into practical training and advisory services for export oriented SMEs. Globally Cool designed and delivered a practical Train-the-Trainer programme that combined responsible AI use, export market research, buyer communication, AI supported workflows, training design and commercial thinking. The approach focused on enabling local practitioners not only to use AI tools effectively, but also to transfer their knowledge through structured and replicable SME export support services.

Activities

  • Designed and delivered a five day Train-the-Trainer programme on responsible AI and export promotion. We developed a progressive learning-by-doing journey that moved from responsible AI foundations and prompting to export research, communication, reusable AI solutions, service development and practical training design.
  • Facilitated responsible AI and prompt engineering exercises. We trained participants to recognise hallucinations and unsupported claims, verify important information and keep human judgement visible. Participants also learned to develop structured “Golden Prompts” using role, context, task, requirements and output format.
  • Conducted practical AI supported export market research and buyer communication training. We guided participants in using Deep Research and complementary evidence to compare priority markets, explore market entry conditions, analyse buyer needs and translate verified findings into buyer focused value propositions, communication materials and visuals.
  • Developed participants’ capacity to create reusable AI assistants and workflows. We introduced approaches for building and testing AI assistants with approved knowledge, rules and guardrails, identifying repetitive export related processes suitable for AI support, and reviewing generated outputs from the perspective of international buyers.
  • Facilitated the development of marketable AI enabled SME services. We supported participants in moving from individual AI tools towards customer oriented solutions by developing service propositions, business plans, market evidence, pricing logic and commercially relevant training or advisory concepts.
  • Supported the creation of Trainer Manuals and practical learning materials. We helped the groups define observable learning outcomes, practical exercises and supporting materials that could be used to transfer AI capability to Cambodian SMEs, colleagues and business-support organisations.
  • Designed and facilitated a final challenge to assess practical application and knowledge transfer. Four participant groups presented and defended a Business Plan, Trainer Manual and evidence of purposeful AI use. We used the exercise to assess participants’ ability to connect customer needs, responsible AI, instructional design and commercial service development.
  • Analysed participant performance, evaluation data and follow-up needs. We assessed learning through participant outputs, final challenge presentations, evaluation results and trainer observations, and translated the findings into recommendations for SME pilots, co-delivery and coaching.

Results

  • Participants demonstrated strong practical competence in responsible AI, export market research and buyer communication.
  • The strongest self-assessed learning result was the ability to use AI for export market research and buyer communication.
