Training of Trainers in Ghana
The Ghana Export Promotion Authority (GEPA) wishes to expand its Export School, a programme where exporters can learn current trends in the export business. The project includes updating the curriculum with relevant export courses and modern teaching techniques via onsite training and e-learning.

Globally Cool has contributed through curriculum development about several topics and training of trainers. The activity is part of the WACOMP programme, co-implemented by UNIDO and IPD.
Activities
Among the activities are:
- Review of existing Export School curriculums.
- Supporting GEPA in selecting appropriate trainers.
- Curriculum development for four courses – in collaboration with partners.
- Delivering onsite and virtual training.
- Updating of teaching techniques through soft skill enhancement and role-plays.
- On the job coaching and 1 on 1 feedback.
- Documenting the training; course objectives and target groups, contents, methods, teaching notes, evaluation methods and the like.
Results
Among the key results are:
- Updated curriculum for training on trade fair participation.
- New curriculum for web-based market research.
- New curriculum for digital marketing course.
- New curriculum for export quality management course.
- Course descriptions and training plans for each course and module.
- Local trainers trained in delivering onsite and virtual training.
- Teaching techniques updated including virtual delivery, interactive assignments, online quizzes and 1 on 1 coaching.
- Courses available through e-learning platform Thinkific.
