Hello everyone! My name is Fady, and I am excited to be Globally Cool’s new Sales Support Executive!
I have been living in Groningen for a little over 3 years now, and I’m currently completing my Economics degree at the University of Groningen.
Starting out at Globally Cool
Since joining the team, my first major task has been joining the efforts behind the matchmaking project for Dubai Chambers at the ANUGA trade show. Despite joining in the final phases, I was indescribably lucky to work with such a dynamic team. My work involved connecting clients with potential buyers and suppliers, supporting the on-the-ground team with managing the agendas during the show, as well as tracking and analyzing the results of the project.
My passions
In terms of personal interests, I have a relatively strong passion for writing. I think it will prove advantageous as I begin working on proposal writing over the next few months. There’s a general consensus in the field that it’s one of the less thrilling tasks, but to me, the challenge of using language to fit specific requirements while simultaneously delivering effective messaging is one that really gets me excited.
That same passion was revisited when I did my minor in Rhetorics, during which we had to write and recite a 10-minute long speech as our final assignment. While it was a uniquely stressful experience, I completed the course with a different kind of appreciation for language and communication. For the first time in my life now, if you were to ask me to present a speech to a group of strangers with no preparation, part of me would get really excited.
In addition to that, I really enjoy travelling. I’ve already marked a few countries off my bucket list, but I still have a long way to go. I’ve never really been the person to say: “Let’s go backpacking through Europe”, but there’s a good chance you’ll see me dramatically running to catch a train in every major station across Europe next summer.
Moving forward
Over time, I hope to work on more exciting projects where I’ll be able to build on my skills, expand Globally Cool’s network, continue to meet amazing people and deliver high-quality work.
