GC experts strengthen the capacity of Haitian and Dominican firms

Jan 2, 2021

What does a Santa hat, several Zoom meetings and 60 small and medium-sized enterprises (SMEs) from Haiti and the Dominican Republic have in common? They are all ingredients of the Export Quality Management workshops for Caribbean companies. Recently, Globally Cool experts Warner and Valeria conducted these workshops.

The Caribbean Export Development Agency hired Globally Cool to host a 5-day Export Quality Management workshop. It took place virtually from the 11th to 17th of December 2020. SMEs from the cocoa/chocolate, essential oils/cosmetics and handicraft value chains attended, as well as the Haitian Bureau of Standards (BHN) and the Dominican Institute for Quality (INDOCAL). The main goal was to strengthen the capacity of selected firms to access niche markets in the EU.

Become successful

Technical Barriers to Trade limit these companies from exporting to international markets. To become successful, gaining knowledge and information about international quality certifications is critical. Our experts have up-to-date knowledge of international market access requirements for a wide range of sectors. Next to that, our online training toolkit enables a full learning experience. The variety of tools applied helps to keep the lecture attractive and a pleasure to follow. The performance of Warner with a Santa hat was just one of the examples:

The testimonials of the participants were very positive. We are sure that they will soon put in place what they have learnt to conquer new markets in Europe!
