When thinking of metrology institutes, you might have questions marks about what such an organization does. Well, let’s start with clearing that up. A metrology institute is all about measurement in any way, shape, or form. You can imagine that for many businesses calibration and certification of measurement devices are extremely important. Therefore, a clear and professional online presence towards current and potential clients is key.
Enhancing knowledge and skills
Globally Cool is commissioned by Physikalisch-Technische Bundesanstalt (PTB) to distant train 4 metrology institutes from Egypt, Jordan, Lebanon, and Palestine. Due to the global pandemic, the training is fully digital through e-learning and Zoom webinars. The overall objective of the course? Enhancing the knowledge and skills of the participants concerning digital marketing. As digital marketing has many subjects to cover, we decided to split the course into two. First covering effective websites, search engine optimization and advertising, and email marketing. Secondly focusing on optimizing social media channels.
From webinar to quizzes
Of course, the organizations’ reason to participate in the course is to learn how to generate more awareness among the business community about the services they provide. This eventually should lead to more sales of services. In this case, a pragmatic teaching approach is necessary. Therefore, our consultants explain the topics during webinars with many interactive moments. After the webinars, the participants put the theory to practice by executing assignments and test their knowledge by completing short quizzes. At the end of the training, the participants need to complete a final quiz. Upon a positive score – at least 60% of the answers correct – the participants earn their certificate of participation.
On to the next one!
To make sure that all learned skills are indeed being followed up on, Globally Cool organizes one-on-one sessions with the different teams after the two courses. During these meetings, improvement plans and points are discussed.
In retrospection, with the first of the two courses finished, we can conclude that the training was very well attended and received by the participants. The course was rated 4.8 out of a maximum score of 5.0. We are very proud of the participants from the metrology institutes – they all admirably absorbed the learnings so far, which promises a lot for the future. Through the webinars and assignments, the participants learned from best practices and assessed their own website and SEO. In the end, the organizations completed their own improvement plan including quick wins, which is a guidance document for the teams to work on their objectives and achieve immediate results.
