Market intelligence services in Myanmar

October 8, 2018

The Ministry of Commerce of Myanmar created a National Export Strategy in 2015 to restore the balance of trade. As part of this wider export strategy, Onno Roukens and Aleksandar Jovanovic from Globally Cool assisted with trade promotion. Trade promotion can help a company put their resources to good use and connect with international counterparts. It can also assist them in gaining access to new international markets, and operating in a competitive environment abroad.

Our latest project in Myanmar focuses on market intelligence services. We were asked to identify eight potential Myanmar export products / potential EU markets. Together with a great team from the Trade Development Programme we conducted several workshops to create and implement a new EU Helpdesk Strategy.

To identify the main products with export potential we conducted research and interviewed relevant sector associations. We also talked to additional public and private sector stakeholders for confirmation and to gain new product ideas.

I have to say that I’m amazed by the fact that you manage to write such a high quality report after a short period of studying on mung beans…”
