Are Frisian tourism companies ready for 2018?
February 14, 2017
In 2018, the Frisian city of Leeuwarden is European Capital of Culture. This means Frisian tourism companies have to prepare for the upcoming influx of visitors. To help them, the Province of Fryslân has asked Globally Cool to develop a digital quick scan.
Onno and Carine are working with the European Tourism Futures Institute and the Foundation Kulturele Haadstêd 2018. Combined with our local and international experience, the expertise of these organisations guarantees a strong tool.
Digital quick scan
The digital quick scan consists of a series of simple questions that take 5 minutes to answer. It focuses on four important themes:
- online marketing
- international tourists
- product development
- hospitality
Each question comes with an explanation of why this particular subject is so important. Their score tells Frisian tourism companies if they are ready for 2018, or if they need to improve in some areas. The quick scan gives them detailed feedback, with advice and relevant workshops to follow.
How to participate
In the coming weeks, the Province of Fryslân is hosting several The Year Before 2018 sessions. At these meetings, the Province and her partners present their programme to prepare the Frisian tourism industry for 2018. After that, the quick scan is uploaded to Frisian business platform YnBusiness.
