Panga promotion a big catch at Seafood Expo

May 12, 2014

Whoever thought that pangasius is a cheap fish with little character will think again after a sizzling promotion at the seafood expo global tradeshow in Brussels from May 6-8, 2014.

With the brand ‘youreverydayfish‘ we have established pangasius not only as an affordable, healthy choice, a source of Omega 3. Moreover, we emphasized the values of panga as an ideal mix ‘n match fish that fits every cuisine. A tasteful bite in salads, soups, curries, seafood combo’s and even combined with meat. A fish that pleases young and old. Produced in a safe and responsible way. A truly every day fish!

Tasting is believing

Our panga chef prepared 5 unique snack bites for visitors at the Vietnam pavilion to experience the beauty of the fish and how nicely it can be used in a wide variety of dishes. It was a big surprise to many of the visitors who enjoyed the panga like never before. Even the Vietnamese were surprised to find out what you can do with panga. The chef was recorded on Vietnam TV and invited to come to Vietnam for cooking demonstrations.

Buyers and sellers go for the next level

We also brought pangasius exporters and European importers together in a business forum to discuss next steps to improve the quality standards of pangasius towards a premium panga. The meeting attracted more than 40 participants from the industry and together they agreed they will form a working group to establish criteria and inspection routines. A critical step towards the next level!
